The Admission Volunteer Program (AVP) connects prospective applicants seeking admission to Colorado College with vetted alumni in an effort to continue the tradition of excellence at CC. AVP grants prospective students opportunities to gain greater insight into the Colorado College experience and simultaneously, allows CC alumni opportunities to stay connected with Colorado College. Here are the ways in which alumni may partner with the Office of Admission.

Admission Volunteer Program (AVP) Agreement

As representatives of Colorado College, AVP volunteers have a significant impact on the students and families with whom they interact. In order to provide the best experience for prospective and admitted students and their families, we ask that AVP volunteers adhere to a set of principles established by the Colorado College Admission Office in partnership with the Office of Alumni Relations. By signing this Volunteer Agreement and assuming the role of an Admission Volunteer, you agree to appropriately represent Colorado College as described by the following set of principles. Actions inconsistent with these practices may render you ineligible to participate in the Admission Volunteer Program (AVP).

As an Admission Volunteer I will:
●      Do my best to create a positive and respectful atmosphere when interacting with prospective students and their families. This includes using professional language, appropriate attire, and asking only relevant questions.
●      Refrain from the use of alcohol, drugs, and/or tobacco products immediately before and when interacting with prospective students and families.
●      Do my best to provide accurate and factual information about Colorado College, and refrain from disparaging other colleges to prospective students and families.
●      Frequently check email associated with the program to stay current with updates, events or alerts.
●      Avoid making promises, guarantees and personal assessments regarding student admissibility, financial aid packages, special housing accommodations, etc. when interacting with a prospective student.
●      Treat students and families with respect, patience, and courtesy in a professional manner.
●      Never offer transportation or financial assistance of any kind to prospective students or their families.

As an Admission Alumni Interviewer I will:
●      Complete a virtual interview training hosted by the Admission Office staff within a two year window.
●      Be responsible for maintaining appropriate boundaries, including physical, emotional, and sexual.
●      Excuse myself from interviewing for CC during any application cycle in which any of my close relatives - including children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, or cousins - are applying to CC.
●      Keep the information provided by the prospective student in the interview highly confidential. This information can only be shared with staff members of the Admission Office.
●      Understand that I may not be employed as an educational or college consultant while also conducting interviews for CC. Services relating to the college application process such as test preparation, essay writing, or application review should not be offered or provided.
●      Not interview an applicant I know personally or have a professional or social relationship via the applicant’s family. If I feel that I have other potential conflicts of interest, I will discuss them immediately with a staff member from the Admission Office.
●      Not contact prospective students outside of official Admission Volunteer Program business. Follow up communication can be provided if requested by the applicant. I will not meet prospective students socially, or establish any connections via social networks (Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.) during the application process.
